Electrical Condition Reports

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (formerly known as a Periodic Inspection Report) is an in-depth inspection of the electrical installation, followed by a comprehensive report detailing recommendations and remedial work required.

What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)?

An inspection and series of tests to ensure your electrical installation continues to conform to the national safety standard. The inspection will;

Reveal if any of the electrical circuits or equipment are overloaded

Find any potential electric shock risks or fire hazards

Identify any defective electrical work

Highlight any lack of earthing or bonding

Tests are also carried out on wiring and fixed electrical equipment to check that it is safe. A schedule of circuits will also be provided, which is invaluable for a property occupier..

Frequency

For the majority of commercial buildings the EICR should be carried out every five years. In certain cases it may need to be carried out more frequently depending on the specific use of the building.

Vital’s Service

We carry out EICRs across the UK. Our highly experienced engineers are fully qualified and have a wealth of experience in commercial buildings. Our engineers have particular experience of dealing with occupied buildings where great care is required to ensure that the tenant’s business is not disrupted whilst the test is being undertaken.
